If you had to compromise on your travel plans this year, we’ve got something to cheer you up — this new spot feels like a trip abroad without the expensive airfare. Cafe Santorini is now open by the Gates of Baby Point in the city’s west end, serving up sizzling plates of Greek cuisine in a Mediterranean atmosphere.

The restaurant’s patio is surrounded by flowers, trees, and a stone fountain. Plus, there’s a lounge section “for those who just want to come in for drinks and unwind,” says the restaurant’s website. You can treat yourself to a cone from the soft-serve ice cream bar or watch the game on the big screen TV.

On the menu, you’ll find all kinds of mouthwatering Greek dishes, from gyro to souvlaki to stuffed peppers. The restaurant even serves pizza and pasta.

Cafe Santorini is open 7 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on most weeknights and until 11 p.m. or later on Fridays and Saturdays. At night, the glowing patio lights give the place a beach club vibe.

This isn’t the only Greece-inspired restaurant to open in the city this summer. Myth Restaurant opened up on King St. West just a few weeks ago, complete with a terrace that transports you to the seaside of Mykonos.

So, if you’re craving an escape to colourful cobblestone streets and salty ocean air, these spots are the next best thing!
