This new East Van restaurant is bringing back major neighbourhood café vibes

New restaurant alert! Folks, we love when a new grub spot opens up in town. Not only is it an excuse to eat out, but it’s also the chance to try some great new food. The new restaurant in town is called Oh Carolina, and it’s opening sometime soon in a nice, East Van Neighbourhood.

Located at East 12th and Caroline (hmm, a coincidence?), Oh Carolina is trying to bring back the old vibe of the neighbourhood cafe.

Not only will they be making delicious salads, sandwiches, and pastries, the spot will also have some grocery items. The owners have sourced some staples for you to pick up along with your coffee, lunch, or snack!

The restaurant is run by Gooseneck Hospitality and is going to be in the space of the old Charles Grocery. If you’re unfamiliar You might recognize Gooseneck from their other restaurants Lucky Taco, Bufala, Bells and Whistles, and Wildebeest. With a roster like that, it’s clear they know what they’re doing with this new venture.

The restaurant has already started posting about its menu on Instagram and it looks amazing. The kitchen is headed by Travis McCord, who used to work at La Pentola in Yaletown, and all the food looks amazing.

While they don’t have an official start date just yet, rumours are swirling they may open this Friday, July 18. Either way, we are sure excited to get the chance to go out on a few coffee/lunch dates with friends at Oh Carolina!

Oh Carolina

Where: 580 East 12th Avenue, Vancouver
When: Opening soon (possibly Friday, June 18th)
