Romance is in the eye of the beholder. While some prefer 5-star hotels and long walks on a beach, others just need some pine trees for privacy and a pit big enough to warm a few hot dogs over. If this sounds like you, then rework your schedule, because this week’s unique Alberta Airbnb is a secluded retreat perfect for an outdoorsy couple looking to make the most of the fall season.
Located in the central Alberta village of Cremona, only an hour from Calgary, this cozy tin bin cabin has 374 sq ft of livable space, a massive deck, is surrounded by trails, farmland and wildlife, AND has a one of a kind ‘cowboy’ hot tub where you can get in a good warm soak at your leisure.
Of course, like everything that surrounds this custom cottage, the interior is what we’d consider woodsy chic and includes nighttime essentials like a comfortable bed, a heater, recliners and everything that you’ll need to cook on the outdoor stovetop as well as adorable decor, most of which was made lovingly by hand.
Now, it is worth mentioning, however, that here you’ll be required to use an outhouse BUT – it’s far more private than the ones you’re probably used to at a campsite or on a hiking trail.
In lieu of that, the owners do supply their guests with all toiletries, towels, and wash clothes so you won’t feel like you’re totally roughing it – unless you want to? Some people are really into that kind of thing!
The best part? Staying here is extremely affordable and will only run you about $160 a night depending on the time of year you visit.
We’d recommend going while it’s still relatively warm – but the farm is your oyster and this romantic getaway? It’s what you make of it!
