It’s an open secret that Little Brick is one of Edmonton’s most iconic spots. And after years of delighting locals and travellers alike, they’re opening not one, but two new concepts! It’s an ambitious plan, and we’re down for it. So let’s see what’s in store!

Both of the new concepts will be moving into the Umpherville Block, a new Riverdale development that is only a few blocks away from Little Brick. Sorry, residents of Strathcona and Oliver, but it looks like Little Brick is keeping things hyper-local for now.

The first concept is bread + butter, which will be a ‘savoury bakery’ and cafe that should be perfect for an on-the-go coffee or a light weekend brunch. With any luck, we’ll be able to pick up some full loaves of bread here, just to pretend that we baked them at home ourselves.

We’ll admit it’s the other concept, Dogpatch, that really caught our eye. The focus here seems to be more like a Parisian cafe, with full-day fare, cocktails, and a large patio to enjoy the afternoon on. And since it’s just a short walk away from the River Valley, it’s bound to be a must-visit spot for after-work (or after-walk) drinks.

No official opening date has been announced just yet, but it looks like both are mere days away from opening! One thing’s for sure- we’ll keep our eyes peeled for an update.
