Well, it’s that time of year again. The last weekend of summer, the final hoorah of street parties, outdoor markets, and summer vibes. And some pretty big names are gracing our local music scene this week. So lace up your dancing shoes and hit the town, because these are just 10 of the fun things you can get up to in Vancouver this weekend (Sept. 19-21).
Celebrate the last weekend of summer with another classic Mount Pleasant Block Party with a Vin Van pop-up wine bar! From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, you can indulge in tasty Italian eats from Sprezzatura, patio sips, and check out an artisan market full of vintage finds, fresh flowers, and treats.
There will also be live DJs spinning (mostly vinyl) all afternoon.

Considered the biggest end-of-summer party on the North Shore, the Shipyards Festival is back in full swing with tasty food trucks, Car Free Day fun, street games, flowing drinks, and live music all day long.

The 35th annual Vancouver International Flamenco Festival dances its way to Granville Island and venues across the city this weekend. The Aficionado Stage is completely free to attend, and will showcase two full days of traditional flamenco music and dance, open to all ages.
There will also be morning classes for both children and adults to learn flamenco movement and rhythm. Afternoon performances commence at 2 p.m., with a new group taking the stage each hour.

Legendary rapper and icon Ice Cube is taking the stage at the Pacific Coliseum this weekend as part of his highly anticipated Truth to Power Tour, which covers four decades of his groundbreaking music.

The newly minted women’s soccer club, Vancouver Rise, has already made a name for itself in the world of soccer. Come out for a game against the Ottawa Rapid FC this weekend and cheer them on!

HAIM is a GRAMMY-nominated, all-women group known for their eclectic songs and sound, and Vancouver’s stage is the next place they’re hitting on their international tour.

The Under Armour Eastside is a 10K race through Vancouver’s historic eastside, following a course that is rarely open to foot traffic! So if you are looking to run a course with a friend or come solo in support of a great event, this is the race for you.

Linkin Park is bringing their From Zero World Tour to Rogers Arena this week, and fans won’t want to miss out on what is sure to be a memorable night of their electrifying discography.

An afternoon of improv is coming to Studio 103 at the Shadbolt Centre For The Arts this weekend. The show will feature an all-ages improv comedy performance (non-ticketed) and a pre-registered improv workshop for those aged 15+ of all backgrounds and improv skill levels.
