It has arrived. The official last weekend of summer break for many… It’s Labor Day weekend, and we’re ready to take advantage of the warm weather! Whether you’re looking for festivals around town, or concerts in the city, you will find something to do as it’s a busy weekend! Here are some of the best things to do in and around Seattle on your Labor Day weekend.
A legendary band coming is to the city this weekend! Metallica’s concerts are almost here, and they’re probably one of the most anticipated shows in Seattle this month! Get ready for 2 nights, 2 different sets, and 2 different opening acts!
Night 1 is on Friday August 30, 2024 with Pantera / Mammoth WVH, while night 2 is on Sunday, September 01, 2024 with Five Finger Death Punch / Ice Nine Kills. And if you’re a fan, be sure to hit up their Pop Up Shop, which is on until Monday.

PAX West kicks off on August 30th and it is a celebration of “gaming and gaming culture featuring thought-provoking panels, a massive expo hall filled with the best publishers and studios, new game demos, musical performances, tournaments, and a community experience unlike any other.”

The Washington State Fair or Puyallup Fair for real Washingtonians is probably the biggest fair of the year. It’s your classic American state fair experience with plenty of farm animals, rides, live performances, and, of course, fair food.

The Olympia Harbor Days Festival is a free, family-friendly experience taking place over Labor Day Weekend. It showcases many of the vintage tugboats of the Puget Sound, and visitors will also find tall ships, steamships, other historic vessels of twentieth century commerce, tribal canoes, and current recreational small watercraft.

Looking to pig out this weekend? You can do that in Spokane as the annual Pig Out in the Park event is back! You can check out 65 food booths, as well as 45 public market booths, and 150 free concerts all weekend long.

Taking place over the Labor Day weekend, August 31st-September 1st, Bumbershoot will be back at the Seattle Center featuring the Pacific Northwest’s best artists and creators.
Headliners for 2024 include Pavement, Kim Gordon, Cyprus Hill, James Blake, Kurt Vile, and Courtney Barnett.

Another annual event that starts in August and heads into September is the The Blackberry Festival in Bremerton. Check out this celebration of blackberry-themed foods, with live music, and a marketplace of local vendors.

If festivals aren’t your thing, perhaps just a big show at Climate Pledge Arena is! American singer/songwriter Jelly Roll is bring his ‘Beautifully Broken Tour’ to Seattle this weekend.

Looking to experience fields of sunflowers? You’re in luck because Bob’s Sunflower Experience is back and you can check it out this weekend. You can expect 50 varieties of sunflowers, and on weekends there are Hayride Wagons and Lucy’s Lemonade!
