The City of Calgary has reduced their pet adoption fees for a limited time

Are you ready and willing to adopt a furry companion? The City of Calgary has reduced its pet adoption fees—but you’ll want to act fast.

Fall is just around the corner, but who will be snuggled next to you when temperatures drop?

If you’ve been thinking about giving a four-legged cutie all of your love and affection, now is the perfect time because the city is giving you a break!

From small and stout to large and in charge, there are several adorable pets currently in the care of Animal Services looking for a forever home, and to help the public find their purrfect match, they’re covering some of the costs.

Those looking to take in a dog will only have to pay $105 or $88 to bring home a cat.

What’s more, the following is included in the price!

  • spay or neutering surgery
  • microchip implant for identification
  • a twelve-month City of Calgary licence
  • the first set of vaccinations (excluding rabies)
  • de-worming
  • a bag of pet food
  • an adoption kit

Interested? You’ll have to make an appointment to get face time with one of their current cuties.

To book your meet and greet, call 311 and ask to speak to Animal Services.

Appointments are available between 10 am and 5 pm from Monday to Friday, then between 10 am and 3 pm on Saturdays.

Who knows, you could be one step closer to a new best friend!
