Skating at Nathan Phillips Square & The Bentway

Skating is a staple when it comes to outdoor winter activities and you don’t have to put the fun on hold on Christmas!

Nathan Phillips Square, a spot with one of the best outdoor rinks in the city, will have their facility operating on regular hours meaning you can hit the ice any time between 10 AM and 10 PM.

The Bentway Skate Trail is another great option for outdoor skating on Christmas Day. Their trail will be open to the public on regular hours as well, running from 12 PM – 9 PM.

Dine at REIGN

Don’t feel like cooking a big meal on Christmas? REIGN, located in the Fairmont Royal York is serving up some delicious meals for brunch and dinner.

This upscale spot offers a Christmas brunch buffet from 12 PM to 2 PM priced at $99 + tax. If you don’t make it for brunch they’re also running a delectable three-course dinner priced at $99 + tax per person. Take a look at the menu here.

Catch a new movie

Heading to the movie theatre on Christmas is a tried and true tradition in some households.

Cineplex theatres all over the city will be open December 25th, with 3 big-name productions hitting theatres for the first time. The latest reimagining of The Color Purple, The Boys in The Boat, and Ferrari all take to the big screen on December 25th.

Ripley’s Aquarium 

You can get on your feet and still keep warm on Christmas at Ripley’s Aquarium!

The aquarium will run their normal hours on December 25th meaning you can catch all the sights from 9 AM to 9 PM. If you’re worried about long lines, you can purchase tickets ahead of time online.

Toronto Zoo

Another option if you want to see animals on Christmas – the Toronto Zoo! This one you’ll have to bundle up for, but totally worth it to see some adorable animals.

“Join us on Christmas Day as we’ll be OPEN! Enjoy a fun and educational adventure with your family at the Zoo,” states their website. You can head over any time between 11 AM and 4 PM.
