July is a huge month for Edmonton! From concerts to festivals to sports to food, there are quite literally dozens of ways to make the most of the month. And of course, we’ve got the absolute best picks lined up for you. Here are the best things to do around Edmonton this July.
Head down to ICE District Plaza for a massive Canada Day celebration on July 1st. There will be drop-in basketball, pickleball and street hockey for everyone to participate in. There will also be music, games, inflatables, photo booths, face painting, performers for kids of all ages.

Start off the month right, with some Canada Day fireworks! The city’s fireworks will light up the sky over Edmonton’s River Valley at 11pm. The fireworks will also be livestreamed for anyone who would like to watch from home.

If you enjoy track and field, this is one event you can’t miss! The Edmonton Athletics Invitational is bringing the best track and field athletes in the world to the city, and they will be competing head-to head!

This month, you can check out the annual Historic Festival & Doors Open Edmonton which is back for its 27th year! The theme for this year’s event is “prohibition,” and will look at Edmonton’s history while also celebrating the city’s craft beverage industry.

The 4th annual Grindstone Comedy Festival is back in town and organizers say it is bigger than ever before! If you haven’t been, you can expect “independent stand-up, improv and sketch comedy” by national performers and rising local talent.
