Located 14 km south of Brooks, you’ll find Lake Newell, one of the largest man-made lakes in southern Alberta and a must-visit this season!

Not only is this place grand in size, but it’s also super warm, making it the ideal destination for canoeing, swimming, watersports and sailing, but it gets better.

Because it’s out of the way for some – it’s worth noting that they also have a nearby campsite and resort where you can really dig your heels into the excitement of it all.

Stay the night, or the weekend but don’t miss laying out on the beach, taking in some fresh air and winding down after a long, cold and stressful winter.

If of course, you begin to feel a bit antsy, the area is home to several other attractions worth a visit, including the Brooks Aqueduct and the world-famous Dinosaur Provincial Park – so check it out.

There’s no time of year quite like the summertime, and the best place to spend a day or two by far, is on an Alberta beach.
