We’ve waited a long time for this long weekend, and we’re going to make the most of it. Especially since the forecast for Edmonton is looking pretty darn nice as well. If you’re in the same boat (and we hope that you are) then keep on reading, friends!

Here are the 10 best things to do in Edmonton this weekend.

WATCH THE BATTLE OF ALBERTA

This first Battle of Alberta playoff game has got us fired up! Whether or not you can actually score tickets to the games, we’ve got quite a few places to watch them with some pals, including Rogers Place itself.

When: Friday, May 20th and Sunday, May 22nd
Where: Click the link above for our picks

FC EDMONTON

Want to take a breather from high-stakes hockey games? Fair. Our top pick, that’s still sporty, is to check out the upcoming match between FC Edmonton and Atletico Ottawa. Plus, you’ll get some fresh air in to boot.

When: Sunday, May 22nd
Where: 11000 Stadium Road NW, Edmonton
Cost: $10.50+

FORT EDMONTON PARK

The already iconic destination got a major renovation last year, and this is its first full season back! Family-friendly options that double as date ideas are few and far between, but we definitely think Fort Edmonton Park is a great example of it.

When: Opens Saturday, May 21st
Where: 7000 143 Street NW
Tickets: $26.20 for GA

WHC SUMMER SERIES

Wild Heart Collective’s 124 Grand Market is set to make a return this week. The food and drink event (plus a little shopping and entertainment) will be running Thursday, Saturdays, and Sundays at locations around the city.

When: Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd
Where: Locations around Edmonton
Cost: Free!

bbno$

For a little Monday magic, we’ve got this Vancouver rapper that has quickly risen to international fame. Raucous and lighthearted, it’s a great option for those who just wanna dance it out a bit this weekend.

When: Monday, May 23rd
Where: 6240 99 Street NW
Cost: $35+

THE MAGICAL MUSIC OF HARRY POTTER

On the other hand, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is about to kick off a full series of concerts showcasing the music of Harry Potter. We’ll admit that it’s one of the few soundtracks we’d actually want to hear live.

When: Shows start Saturday, May 21st
Where: 4 Sir Winston Churchill Square NW
Cost: $32+

EDMONTON VALLEY ZOO

In addition to the regular exhibits, a super cool Lego one has landed at the zoo! Head down there to see some incredible Lego sculptures, which of course are focused on plants and animals.

When: Open throughout the weekend
Where: 13315 Buena Vista Road
Cost: $15.95 for GA

U OF A BOTANIC GARDEN

If a leisurely day outside is more your speed, then we suggest you head to the Botanic Garden. It’s spring, flowers are blooming, and you’ve got acres upon acres of beautiful gardens to explore. Yeah, this isn’t a hard sell.

When: Open throughout the weekend
Where: 51227 AB-60, Parkland County
Cost: $19.75 for GA

ELK ISLAND NATIONAL PARK

On another note, Elk Island National Park is a wonderland any time of year. Enjoy some hiking and exploring during the day, then kick back for some stargazing afterwards before you head home.

When: Open throughout May
Where: 54401 Range Road 203, Fort Saskatchewan
Cost: $7.90 for admissions
