Silver Skate Festival

This free 10-day event is Edmonton’s longest running winter festival! While it started on February 9th, there is time to check it out! Locals can enjoy the city’s scenic ODRS, marvel at this year’s ice sculpture garden, compete in a winter triathlon or catch an evening show at the Winter Cinema.

International Festival of Winter Cinema

In conjunction with Silver Skate, the International Festival of Winter Cinema is also running right now, and you can catch a film on a Snow Screen!

Resort Night at World Waterpark

Looking for something to do after Valentine’s Day that doesn’t involve dinner or a movie? You can head to Resort Night and relax in a resort style oasis lounging in a hot tub with themed cocktails all night!

Immersive Disney Animation

This winter, the Edmonton EXPO Centre will host the Disney Animation: Immersive Experience and no matter your age, you won’t want to miss it!

Brought to life by Lighthouse Immersive, the upcoming exhibit will make visitors “feel like they’ve entered the incredible worlds of beloved Disney characters,” and will celebrate the studio’s greatest hits like The Lion King and Frozen.

UIAA Ice Climbing World Championships

Want to experience the thrill of winter ice climbing? You can watch world-class athletes scale an ice wall  right here in town, during the 2024 UIAA Ice Climbing Championships! This four-day competition is part of Edmonton’s annual YEG Ice Fest — an outdoor event with frosty fun activities for all ages.

YEG ICE FEST

Speaking of frosty, the aforementioned ice festival is back for four days of food, live entertainment, winter markets and more. Plus, if you stick around on Sunday, you can catch one of the After Party’s live performances on a rooftop patio!

Cineplex Family Favourites

For the month of February, you can enjoy $3.99 family favourite movies on Saturdays and even on Family Day Monday. You can catch Nimona, Paw Patrol: The Movie, and Super Mario Bros Movie from Saturday through Monday.

Alberta Museums

We love free! This long weekend, families will be able to learn from and explore some of Alberta’s very best and brightest spots for FREE! From the Royal Alberta Museum to the Lougheed House, the province will be offering free admission on Family Day.

Top Gunn: A Maverick Musical

Jubilations Dinner Theatre is taking “a ride on the Highway to the Danger Zone” with their parody spin on the fighter jet franchise. “Two classic movies made 30 years apart featuring a movie star that somehow looks like he hasn’t aged a single day… it’s just a musical theatre spoof waiting to happen!”

Sweet Treats Latte Festival
