Edmonton, welcome to your first full weekend of 2025! If you’re still in the holiday zone, the city still has some festive events that you can enjoy this weekend – for the last time, that is. Since it’s a cold one out there, make sure to bundle up with extra layers before you hit the outdoors! Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Edmonton this weekend.

“Anything can happen at the Double Feature Improv Show! Each show features a different line-up of two of Rapid Fire Theatre’s finest improv troupes doing what they do best. It might get sexy, it might get spooky, and it will always be hilarious,” shares organizers.

Support women in sports!!!! Cheer on the MacEwan Griffins women’s hockey team this Friday. They’ll take on the University of Alberta.

Get ready for a breathtaking, two-hour performance recap of the animated series’ three seasons. It will be presented on a full-size cinema screen as a live orchestra performs the soundtrack. Absolutely stunning.

Located on the north bank of the North Saskatchewan River, Victoria Park is a hotspot for lovebirds, families, and friends no matter the time of year.
Once it snows, however, the area really comes to life, with the Victoria Park Oval in place of its heart, and the IceWay winding through its trees like a multicoloured ribbon.

Go Oil Kings, Go! Cheer on the local hockey team as they face off against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Enjoy a dazzling drive-through light display. This 2.5 km journey will feature over two million twinkling LED lights and includes a 200-foot tunnel of lights and a new towering, animated 32-foot Barbie!

Back for its second year, this drive-thru Christmas light display takes you through an extended route of twinkling lights and captivating displays.

This impactful exhibit offers a family-friendly adventure filled with engaging, hands-on activities. Learn about solar power, try your hand at carbon capture pinball, and delve into Indigenous Ways of Knowing. Learn how small changes can add up to create big impacts. This exhibit is included with regular admission to the TELUS World of Science.
