SALUTE TO VIENNA NEW YEAR’S CONCERT

Kick off your new year by waltzing into it! Check out “Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert,” now a North American Tradition! According to the event, “this dazzling performance evokes a golden age of Viennese music, brimming with energy, merriment, and romance, and is a glorious re-creation of the beloved Neujahrskonzert, the concert that has welcomed the New Year for more than 80 years in Vienna and all over the world.”

SNOW WAY OUT

Ready to get lost this new year? Downtown Edmonton’s first snow maze is in the Fan Park, directly next to Rogers Place! The massive 75’x75’ Oilers themed maze will include multiple photo opportunities, a slide, and it’s ready for you!

GO SKATING

The city has several Outdoor Skating and Ice Rinks to enjoy, with the majority now open to public! Take your new year outdoors this week!

BOREALIS LIGHTS

Borealis Lights’ Christmas Drive-thru Light Display is still on, and is located in the Kinsmen RV Park in St Albert! It features over 800,000 twinkling holiday lights, and it’s the last week to catch it.

TUBING AT EDMONTON SKI CLUB

Have you tried tubing at the Edmonton Ski Club? Well, it is the least expensive option in the city, and this spot offers some classic, family-friendly fun and of course, more than earns the price of admission with a magic carpet to get you up the hill.

ICE DISTRICT SKATING RINK

Like tubing, skating season is here, so get your skates and head to the ICE District Plaza! The rink located in the centre of the plaza is now open to the public and you can use of the rink for free!

LASER FLOYD: DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

Every weekend, the Telus World of Science hosts a nostalgic (but still stunning) laser show set to, really, the best band for it- Pink Floyd. Whether you’ve been a fan of their music for years, or want to try something new, this is a great option.

ACC ICE WALL

Edmonton’s Ice Wall has returned for another season! This unique attraction is the perfect combination between the thrills of ice climbing without all the, you know, inherent danger of it. Whether you’re already into climbing or just wanna try something new, they’ve got options for everyone.

ELK ISLAND NATIONAL PARK

Elk Island is a veritable winter wonderland year after year, and luckily, you can check it out no matter the weather. Whether you’re hitting the trails, stargazing, or trying to see some buffalo in true winter fashion, this national park is always worth the drive out there.
