10 things to do in and around Edmonton this weekend (February 24-26)

And just like that, it’s the weekend! While it is still cold, it will hopefully warm up by Sunday. But we love us an Edmonton winter! If you plan to head out this weekend, here are the best things to do in Edmonton.

WINTER CITY WEEKENDS 

Winter City Weekends is hosted by EAC at Churchill Square! It has family friendly programming every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, where you can get on the ice and groove to some of Edmonton’s best musicians and DJs. And they also offer free skates!

TASTE OF AFRICA

To celebrate Black History Month, Taste of Africa returns with a rich display of African Dance, Story Telling, Poetry, Arm chair travels, and lots more. The evening ends with a tasting of a variety of foods from different parts of Africa and the Carribean.

2023 SPECIAL OLYMPICS ALBERTA WINTER GAMES

Strathcona County is hosting the 2023 Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games starting February 24. Over 1,200 athletes, staff and volunteers from across the province will come together for a weekend of competitive sporting events and fun. There will be eight sports, and the full schedule is available online.

CREO – EDMONTON BALLET

Ballet Edmonton is welcoming two new choreographic voices to the stage this week: Zurich-based creator Ihsan Rustem and Montreal-born Dorotea Saykaly. They will bring the world premiere of Only the Window and Black Moon.

WINTER WAGON RIDES
