It’s Stampede week in Calgary, which basically means that the city is running on pancakes, concerts and a whole lot of western energy. But if you’re not spending every minute at the Stampede grounds, there are still plenty of ways to get out and explore the city without getting caught in the crowds.
We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do this weekend so you can skip the scrolling and get straight to planning!

Want to catch some Stampede entertainment without draining your wallet? Head over to Fluor Rope Square for live music, a pancake breakfast, roping demonstrations, and plenty of free activities that bring the Stampede spirit right into the heart of downtown Calgary.

Calgary Stampede
The Calgary Stampede has officially arrived, and that can only mean one thing: the city is about to be busier than ever. Over the next 10 days, Calgary will be filled with rodeo action, midway rides, incredible food, pancake breakfasts, and western-themed events happening well beyond the Stampede grounds.

Cowboys Music Festival
Cowboys Music Festival is back with another stacked Stampede lineup, bringing some of the biggest names to the city. This year’s festival features performances from John Summit, Tucker Wetmore, Sam Barber, RuPaul, and plenty more. Whether you’re heading there for the country acts, EDM, or the electric atmosphere, this is one Stampede party you won’t want to miss.
