These are the 10 most affordable cities to buy a home in Ontario right now

Looking for some new real estate? We don’t need to tell you that these are crazy days when it comes to home buying in Ontario. Wherever you are in the province, we’ve seen some wild prices over the past year. Well, if you’re on the hunt for the most affordable options in the area, look no further. One of Canada’s most popular national real estate marketplaces, Zolo, just released its rankings of the most affordable places to buy a home in Ontario. No surprise – Toronto and the GTA did not make the cut.

So who did make the cut? We’re here to tell ya. But before we do, let’s going into a bit of the methodology that brought Zolo to their findings. They took a few factors into consideration when decided on the most affordable places in Ontario. For starters, there are the actual house prices. This one’s a no-brainer.

They also considered things like unemployment rates in the area and overall population growth. All of these factors gave each city a total score, which led to their ultimate rank on the list.

  3. Barrie – AHP: $713,000
  4. Kanata – AHP: $756,000
