All aboard! Canada’s beloved 65-foot tugboat Theodore TOO is a character we’ve always admired from the shoreline, but thanks to Airbnb, you can now book it for an unforgettable overnight stay.

A very limited number of overnight guests will be permitted on Theodore TOO at his current home port in Hamilton Harbour.

The experience was made possible by the tugboat’s captain, Captain Noah, who transformed the boat into a cozy and unique overnight accommodation.

“Theodore TOO and I have prepared our cabins for guests, fit for a Harbourmaster and decked with iconic Canadiana and nods to Theodore TOO’s roots in Halifax — and complete with saltwater taffy, of course,” writes Captain Noah on Airbnb.

The overnight experience comes with an educational cruise around Hamilton Harbour and tasty meals supplied by local businesses in Hamilton.

“Once the sun sets over the horizon, guests can lounge on the deck for a movie night under the stars, surrounded by the harbour and plenty of snacks – with saltwater taffy being a must.”

Because you’ll be staying on the water, this experience is not ideal for those concerned with motion sickness. It’s also worth noting that the Theodore crew will be staying onboard overnight in their separate cabin on the lower deck.

Theodore TOO will be available to book for just two one-night stays on September 10 and September 11, 2022. Amazingly, the booking costs just $22 per night, in honour of Theodore’s 22 years of service.

You can request to book an overnight stay here starting at 12 p.m. EST on Monday, August 29.
