A downtown Toronto hot spot is throwing a free Cinco de Mayo celebration

Cinco de Mayo falls on Monday, May 5, 2025, but you can celebrate the Saturday before at Toronto’s wildly popular open-air shopping centre, The Well. Head over for a day of dancing, food, and entertainment with free admission to boot.

The celebration, Lucha Libre, will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the upper ground of The Well.

Beloved Toronto taco joint Gus Tacos will be on-site offering a lineup of Mexican snacks and desserts, and a selection of margaritas will be available to visitors at the Altos Tequila Margarita Lounge.

If you want to really immerse yourself, salsa dancing will be happening in the Wellington Market all day long, open to dancers of all skill levels!

One of the main highlights of the event is the Lucha Libre wrestling match.

The match will take place in The Court from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free to attend.

Here’s the full day breakdown with times:

  • Gus Tacos pop-up: 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Altos Tequila Margarita Lounge: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Salsa dancing in Wellington Market: 4 to 8 p.m.
