It’s official, The Weeknd is the most popular musician on the planet and has earned two Guinness World Records titles.

According to the annual worldwide competition, the Toronto native Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd is considered the world’s most popular musician – statistically speaking.

The Canadian singer has earned two titles – one for the Most Monthly Listeners on Spotify (111.4 million) and First Artist to Reach 100 Million Monthly Listeners on Spotify.

According to the GWR, The Weeknd currently has almost 30 million more monthly listeners than singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus who comes in second with 82.4 million listeners.

This is such a huge accomplishment for The Weeknd. Besides him, according to the Guinness World Records, Michael Jackson is the only other solo male musician to have ever achieved this feat

But this isn’t the first time The Weeknd earned a few Guinness World Records titles.

Back in 2016, The Weeknd was awarded two certificates: the most streamed album on Spotify in 2015, and the most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 by a solo male artist.

Now that’s what we call a massive win. Great job representing Toronto, Abel!
