We need the people in Wet Hot American Summer to reform for a new series we’re calling Dry Hot Canadian Summer. Original, we know, but it’s also fitting. According to The Weather Network’s Canada summer forecast, a fair chunk of the country is in for a scorcher! Let’s check it out.
In fact, every major major Canadian city minus Toronto is set to have ‘above normal’ or ‘slightly above normal’ temperatures throughout the next three months. Both BC and Alberta are in for hot summers, increasing risks of wildfires in both provinces and drought conditions in southern Alberta. Ok, so it’s a little more serious than a 2001 comedy movie might let on.

Meanwhile, Ontario’s forecast looks like a little bit more of a roller coaster. Drought conditions are already in place in some parts of the province. But, The Weather Network expects that a stormy pattern will lead to average rainfall this season. If that means we get to see some crazy summer thunderstorms, then count us in.
If you’re planning for a late summer road trip, Atlantic Canada has got a very warm, humid and stormy summer coming down the pipe. And, if that wasn’t enough, they also might get a couple of scraps from what should be a very active hurricane season. So, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that if anything, Canada has a milder summer than what the forecast calls for.
