After over half a year of being closed, the Sea to Sky Gondola announced earlier today that it’s officially reopening next weekend! The beloved attraction is set to reopen on Friday, June 11th, after the arrival of some brand new cabins. Here’s a quick rundown!

As crazy as it sounds, this is actually the second time the gondola’s cable had been cut in as many years. The first incident occurred in August of 2019, and they got back up and running by February 2020. However, that only lasted a few months, as the cables were cut again last September.

Curious about their plans to prevent future issues? So were we. According to the website, the Sea to Sky Gondola has worked with security companies to create measures that are ‘unique’ and ‘extraordinary’. Rightfully so- there’s a $250,000 reward for info that leads to the perpetrators.

Ok so that’s the backstory out of the way, now, time to focus on what we can look forward to! Right now, guests can book day tickets that will let them visit the gondola until April of next year. These tickets are available at both weekday (Mon-Thurs) and weekend (Fri-Sun) prices. But, pro-tip time- they’ve available for the same price if you buy online.

Once you’re up there, you can check out their stunning suspension bridge, viewing platforms, and the mountaintop Summit Lodge. Feeling extra outdoorsy? You can also simply book download tickets, and save the trouble of having to get both up and down the mountain.

So, make sure to keep this soon-to-be-reopen option in mind this summer, folks!
