If you’re unfamiliar with what we’re talking about, this home is where the true story of ‘The Conjuring’ began. The critically acclaimed horror film (and subsequent sequels and spin-offs) was based on accounts taken from inhabitants of this very same 14-room farmhouse. Need some more back story? We’ve got you.

From January 1971-1980, the Perron family lived in this home and endured spirits who slammed doors, lifted beds, and even physically attacked them. These terrifying experiences prompted the Perron’s to enlist the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a duo of paranormal investigators who are featured in The Conjuring film and its spin-offs. What you see in the film is a mix of the Warrens’ true accounts of the Perron family and fiction.

But just what was the deal with the spirits? Well, there were multiple but the main one and focus of the film is Bathsheba. She lived in the home in the early 1800s and was charged with manslaughter of a baby according to The Independent. From their experience, the Warrens believed that “she haunted and cursed anyone who lived in the house for control of the household”.

Now beyond the home’s spooky history, you’re probably wondering just why you’d want to own this home. And honestly, it’s a pretty cool house. It was built in 1836 (which is when our friend Bathsheba Sherman lived there) and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 3,109 sqft. Not to mention, it has a lot of its original charm although we could totally see someone decking it out in spooky design galore.

Best of all it can be yours for $1.2 million which honestly feels like a pretty good price considering the history of the home. Stand where paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren stood and live in a still very spiritually active household. Yep, the current caretakers have reported all sorts of activity in the house. At least you’ll never be alone!
