While the project has been in the works for a while, it’s nice to see that the Touch the Water Promenade is on its way to becoming a reality. The ambitious project will transform the North Shore and Rossdale areas. Here’s the latest update on it.

Basically, public input from a survey last fall has led the city to move forward with the Rossdale area for the time being. Even still, it’s an ambitious project that will transform the area. Located adjacent to the Rossdale Power Plant, the new vision features things like river overlooks, a waterfront plaza, a kayak tie-up area and a massive new public deck.

It’s not all metal, wood and concrete, though. The plan also includes a new garden, as well as the revitalization of green spaces with more plants and trees. It should be noted that the project, originally valued at some $10.5M but now likely much higher, has yet to receive funding for construction. Really, they’re just scoping things out.

And that’s where you come in! The city is asking anyone who lives, works or visits the Rossdale area to give feedback on this proposal. After all, it’s your city, so you should definitely have a say in what it looks like. For more information and to complete the survey, just click here!
Enjoy the day, Edmonton!
