HBO has renewed Alberta-shot ‘The Last of Us’ for a second season

You want more? They’ll give you more! While audiences are only a few episodes deep, HBO’s new series has completely taken the world by storm – so much so, that the network has already renewed ‘The Last of Us’ for a season 2.

Based on a popular video game of the same name, ‘The Last Of Us’ stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Joel, a hardened smuggler tasked with escorting a young girl (Bella Ramsey) across post-apocalyptic America.

With a whopping 97% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, this heartwrenching story was shot entirely in Alberta and there’s a pretty decent chance they may revisit the province – though this is not yet confirmed.

From Calgary to Edmonton, Wild Rose Country has been praised by not only the cast but showrunners Neil Drukmann and Craig Mazin for its beauty and versatility.

“We’ve been everywhere, and it was a delight,” Mazin told Mobile Syrup earlier this year. “I miss Calgary and I miss all the folks there. It was an incredible experience to shoot there.”

Until we know for sure, however – just sit back, relax and enjoy the show knowing that ‘The Last of Us’ season 2 will be coming.

New episodes can be enjoyed on Crave or HBO via their local TV Provider every Sunday at 9:00 pm ET or 7 pm MST.

Happy watching, fans! We have a feeling it’s only going to get better from here.
