It’s cold, and winter months can be draining in Ontario. Sometimes, we need some local escapes to unwind for a day or two. And for those looking for a truly one-of-a-kind experience in the province, a visit to The High Acre could be the answer.
Located in Dundas, Ontario, The High Acre is a boutique inn where every suite has its own private spa. And the best part is, it is all within a restored farm house.
“Our intention was to restore and modernize our 1867 farm house while maintaining its heritage, integrity, and original charm,” states The High Acre on its website.
There are four suites in total, each with its own amenities.

“All of our suites have personal spas in room so it’s all included in the price,” The High Acre team told Curiocity in an email. “The rooms all have steam rooms and saunas and soaker tubs.”
Additionally, each room has fireplaces, kitchens, red light therapy masks, all natural products made on site, as well as QR codes for guided breath work and meditation in your room.
There are also massage guns, blue light glasses, ear plugs, sleep time pillow spray and face masks supplied in each suite.
If you’re into ice plunges, The High Acre also allows you to do that in the privacy of your own room.
“Each room is stocked with ice so that you can turn your bath into a cold plunge, or cool off under the rain shower in your steam room,” it states.
The only add on to pay for should you want is a massage.

In the common area, there is a yoga fitness studio, and an outdoor pool and hot tub.
“It’s really a self catered retreat. We supply my everything you need for a personal retreat, you can decide how to use it or if you want to at all,” states the team.
