Alberta has become a hotspot for major production companies like HBO and well-known celebrities, so it should come as no surprise that this spring streaming giant Netflix will be in and around Calgary filming a brand-new show!

Described as a “Western action drama,” The Abadons, will follow a group of ‘diverse and atypical families’ who are driven out of their homes by a corrupt force of wealth and power” and will be made up of 10 episodes in season 1.

As of right now, it’s unclear who will star in the project, but Kurt Sutter (best known for Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C.) will act as the show’s producer and showrunner when they get things rolling this June.

Of course, it’ll only be a matter of time until we get more information, but continue to keep an eye out!

In addition to The Abadons, several other films and TV shows including Fargo, season 5, The Thicket (starring Peter Dinklage) and The Order (starring Jude Law) will be in production as well and you won’t want to miss a beat!

These are exciting times, movie lovers! Wild Rose County is taking over the small screen.
