We’ve been holding on to hope for a stop of our own, but with nothing to say on the matter – many have bad blood with Taylor Swift for leaving Canada off her Eras Tour hit list. Luckily, a little help is on the way from an unlikely place.

Edmonton MP, Matt Jeneroux, has officially filed an “official grievance” with the House of Commons in hopes of getting the singer to reconsider the north – but will it work?

Our fingers are crossed for the most passionate fans – but we aren’t the only country to have done this.

According to the bulletin, the Australian government has filed something similar in an effort to put Adelaide on her map in addition to Melbourne and Syndey.

“It has come to my attention that despite much anticipation, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has neglected to include any Canadian dates or locations as she released her international dates, which includes stops throughout Asia and Europe,” the politician wrote in the letter which was posted to his Instagram story this week.

“Similar to what’s being considered in Australia, I would like to file an official grievance within Parliament on behalf of all Swifties in Canada for her and her team to reconsider.”

“Not only is this leaving Canadian fans without the opportunity to see her tour, but it is also leaving Canada out of the economic opportunities her shows generate,” he added.

With an estimated $4.6 billion generated for local economies in the states, governmental parties are hoping that fans will come, spend money, visit the cities and come back – a win, win, win for everyone involved… especially the concertgoers.

Of course, only time will tell if it works.

Who knows – this time next week, you could all have tickets in hand, ready to Shake It Off at your chosen stadium. After all, stranger things have happened.
