If you’re looking for a new spot to eat at this week, then we have just the place in mind! After covering it in our list of restaurants to try in Vancouver this month, Zarak by Afghan Kitchen has announced an official opening date! Even better news? It’s coming this week!

The new concept from the folks behind Surrey’s beloved Afghan Kitchen is in a beautiful space in Mount Pleasant, and right along Main Street! The 70-seat restaurant features an interior designer courtesy of Simcic + Uhrich Architects, who are behind everything from great breweries (Superflux Brewing) to coffee shops (The Birds and the Beets).

On to the food. Like Afghan Kitchen, Zarak will focus on classic dishes with modern and updated twists. While the full menu has been kept hush-hush, some of the dishes that have been teased include Afghan-style dumplings, kebabs, and panna cotta for dessert. Alongside the food menu, guests can expect a range of local beverages and a new cocktail program.

Heads up though, this spot is going to be walk in only when it first opens! So, get there early to make the most of it!
