Spring may have only just sprung, but we can’t help to think of what summer has in store! Luckily, the Farmers’ Almanac has us covered, having released the latest summer forecast across Canada. And hoo boy, it’s shaping up to be a doozy.
Starting in BC, the extended forecast is pointing towards a “very warm, dry” summer ahead. Things will continually heat up over the next couple of months, with temperatures expected to reach around 30°C to 35°C starting in mid-July.

Moving into the Prairies, we’ve got more of the same to look forward to. However, the extended forecast here is also calling for severe thunderstorms throughout the summer, thanks to “squally weather travelling east out of the Rockies”.
Things are a little more tame from the Great Lakes and moving east. Ontario’s forecast points to a “warm, wet” summer. However, that’s only due to the tail end of September and the end of summer- you can expect some seriously hot days throughout July and August as well.
Moving further east, Quebec is expected to see warm and drier than normal temperatures, with the Atlantic provinces also getting below normal precipitation.
No matter where in Canada you are, you can expect things to start to cool off around mid-August. Until then though? Drink a bunch of water, don’t be shy about the sunscreen, and maybe invest in a fan or even an air conditioner if you can. Looking at the summer forecast for Canada this year, we’re going to do all three.
