We covered some of the country’s best universities earlier this week, so why not stay on that wave with the best university towns in Canada as well? The list, which came out last month, offers a little bit of insight not on the best places to go to school, but the cities and towns to be in while you’re going to school.

The list, which was put out by Preply, covers 18 different indicators spread across 3 broad categories. First is “Wallet Friendliness”, which covers everything from rental costs to internet prices to food and beverage options. Second is “Social Environment”, which ranges from diversity to cafes to nightlife options. And, things like the employment rate, salaries, and actual home prices fall into the “Economic Opportunities” category.

Yeah, not exactly the top picks we would have come up with, but their logic does track! You can check out the breakdowns for the scores on the Preply website, if you’re curious about the list.
