The sunny season is finally here and in anticipation of its 2022 kick-off, we’ve worked up quite the appetite! Luckily, our city is as foodie-friendly as it gets with events happening all summer long, so get hungry, stay hungry and enjoy. Here are 10 food festivals happening in Calgary over the next few months.

LE BURGER WEEK (PLANT-BASED EDITION)

Get those stretchy pants ready because Canada’s beloved Le Burger Week festival is back. From local bars to cafes Calgary is in for a very special 14-days of some meat-free creations and we couldn’t be more excited. Bon Appetit, friends!

Now you might be saying, “Hey, The Calgary Stampede is not a food festival!” but we think that any event that encourages Calgarians to eat their way through 10 days straight for FREE, should count! Check out the link above for 20 places where you can indulge in pancakes and enjoy the year’s best breakfast event – even if you disagree with us.

2ND ANNUAL COCHRANE FOOD FEST

It’s a bit of a drive but Cochranes Food Festival is back for its second year and you won’t want to miss it. Here, attendees can enjoy live music, performances, local food and fun activities at Mitford Park – but don’t forget to take note of it! It’ll only last for a few hours.

When: August 13th

MARDA LOOP  MADE FOODFEST

Showcasing 85 artisans, vendors and foodies, check out Calgary’s Marda Loop for a delicious (pet-friendly) event where guests can eat, play and shop in the sun!

BREWERY AND THE BEAST

This sunny season, Calgary carnivores, are encouraged to enjoy everything from bacon and ale to steak and lager, rock and roll, and the company of friends in support of local businesses at the Brewery and Beast Festival. Check out the link above for more information!

TASTE OF CALGARY

This August, hungry Calgarians will get to explore global cuisines from all over the city. With a unique mix of restaurants and beverage companies, Taste of Calgary will be celebrating the finest food, drink, and entertainment in the city for the first time since the pandemic began. It’s gonna be a good one, friends!

PICKLE PALOOZA

Love dill? This festival is for you! Held at Granary Road, the Pickle Palooza is an all-out delicious event with brine chugging challenges, contests, scavenger hunts and more. Seize the day – and relish it!

AFRO-CARIBBEAN FOOD FESTIVAL

All in support of the Yard-Core Seeds of Life Association, an organization dedicated to teaching people how to be self-sufficient by growing their own produce and plants – this July will see food trucks, small businesses and more take to St. Patrick’s Island for the delicious Afro Caribbean Food Festival. This event is free to attend so check it out and enjoy!

Here comes the boom… and food from all over the world! YYC’s favourite firework festival will return this year to delight our eyes – and our stomachs! From music, beer, food and choreographed pyrotechnics – we’ll be ready and waiting for Global Fest 2022.

SHAKE, STIR AND STRAINBOW

While unconfirmed, this summer will likely see the return of Shake, Stir and Strainbow. Serving an array of unique and colourful offerings in celebration of Calgary’s Pride month, we hope to see Wild Rose Country’s best taverns and brewhouses, distilleries, cafes and cocktail bars back at it again for its 6th annual event.
