What’s a more classic way to celebrate summer in Washington than with state and county fairs? Washington has several fairs this sunny season, and each comes with its rides, entertainment, and of course, fair food! Here are five classic fairs you can check out in Washington this summer.

Seafair Weekend

Seafair Weekend is known as “Seattle’s premier boating event, air show, and festival all rolled into one.” Each year, it features live music, delicious food and beverage options, and various family-friendly activities.

When: August 2nd to August 4th, 2024

The Northwest Washington Fair

Looking for a fair with horse shows, a rodeo, livestock judging, food and craft displays, a demolition derby, and nightly entertainment? The Northwest Washington Fair will have all of that during its 10-day event in August!

When: August 8th to August 17th, 2024

Skagit County Fair

The annual Skagit County Fair in Mount Vernon is back in August for a fun event for the whole family. You can expect local entertainment, a carnival, farm animals, and activities for kids. Fair Admission is required to access the carnival.

When: August 8th to August 11th, 2024

Evergreen State Fair

The Evergreen State Fair is a classic fair experience. It’s not quite as big as the Washington State Fair but definitely worth attending if you love the end-of-summer carnival experiences. Expect rides, fair food, entertainment, and more! The 2024 Evergreen State Fair Theme is “Bright Lights, Summer Nights,” which “embodies everything that makes summer one of the best times of the year.”

When: August 22nd to 27th & August 29th to September 2nd, 2024

Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair or Puyallup Fair for real Washingtonians is probably the biggest fair of the year. It’s your classic American state fair experience with plenty of farm animals, rides, live performances, and, of course, fair food.
