Now here’s a scenic Ontario trail that leads to breathtaking views atop a lookout point. The Lions Lookout Trail in Muskoka is not the easiest hike, but it’s worth it when you get to the top.

You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world, or so Discover Muskoka says.

About a two and a half hours drive north of Toronto, right in Huntsville, is Lions Lookout. This viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the whole area, including the Muskoka River and Fairy Lake.

Per Destination Ontario, Huntsville has been dubbed “the adventure capital of Ontario” and we can see why.

Not much of a hiker? There is a road that you can take to the parking lot at the top of the lookout but be prepared for a steep drive.

As for the trail, it is roughly 1.3 kilometres long and has plenty of inclines along the way.

Once you arrive at the lookout structure, the red-roofed gazebo on a natural rock, you will get to enjoy well-deserved rest and panoramic cottage country vistas.

You can even bring lunch and sit at one of the picnic tables at the top. Learn of its history via the signage that tells you about the area and how it has changed over the past 100 years.

This is a worthy road trip for all those seeking a nature-filled adventure.
