Take a ride on Edmonton’s historic street car and sip from its exclusive brews aboard

Before the High Level Bridge closes for major construction, The Common is bringing back this amazing streetcar series.

All aboard the High-Level Streetcar for the Street Car Cask series, where folks hop aboard the historic streetcar and take sips from exclusive brews — made just for these trips. As you experience a scenic ride above Edmonton, you’ll be able to enjoy the brews from Alberta’s finest.

Get ready to take a seat, have a sip, and experience the adventure of a lifetime.

What to expect

There are two times every Thursday available for you to ride, one at 6 p.m. and one at 7:20 p.m. Once you’re at the High-Level Streetcar terminal, you can hop on board and take a ride you’ll never forget.

For $63.10, your ticket includes a pour from two exclusive one-time-only casks. Each cask is brewed by a special brewery within Alberta, and these casks are made specifically for these events. You’ll quite literally never taste anything like it ever again.

Your ticket also includes a light, two-item feature menu from The Common, which are the perfect snack-sized bites, as well as the ride on the railcar itself. Just wait, it gets better! You’ll also be invited back to The Common afterwards for a select pour, meaning you get three brews for the night.

The first streetcar experience of the year will be with Blindman and Dandy Brewing. You can also expect names like Sea Change Brewing Co., Shiddy’s Distilling, and many more local favourites.

If you’re not into beer… that’s genuinely no problem whatsoever. The team brings on a selection of cans such as Shiddys seltzers, non-alcoholic beers and soda cans just in case someone isn’t a fan or happens to be gluten-free. Everyone deserves to have a great time, regardless of whether you’re a beer fan or not.

Just in case you didn’t get the memo already, this experience is for adults only — meaning 18 and over, sorry kids, you’ll have to stay at home this time. For parents, this is a perfect evening getaway for you and an amazing date night, so please, leave the kids at home like the rest of us.
