This Ontario town is home to storybook-like castles & historical shipwrecks

Ontario never fails to surprise us! There’s a picture-perfect town in our wonderful province and it is known for its storybook-like castles, historical shipwrecks, gorgeous mansions, and waterfront views. There’s lots to see and do in the town of Gananoque and here’s why it’s worth a trip.

If you’re willing to make a day of it, Gananoque or also known to locals as “Gan”, is a about a three hours drive east of Toronto.

According to the 1000 Islands Tourism site, the town is “internationally recognized as one of Eastern Ontario’s most stunning waterfront communities.”

Per Destination Ontario, the town is located along the St. Lawrence River.

Whether you’re heading east towards Ottawa or west to Kingston, Gananoque is the perfect stop if you’re looking to grab a bite or to simply stretch your legs.
