Here are the biggest stars coming to Toronto for TIFF this year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… in Toronto! The start of the 49th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is around the corner and the festival has unveiled some of its expected guests this year.

The lineup of celebrities at TIFF this year is as exciting as always, and if you’re hoping to do some star spotting during the festival, there will be no shortage of opportunities.

The 2024 Toronto International Film Festival kicks off on September 5th with David Gordon Green’s Nutcrackers starring Ben Stiller, and will close with Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut The Deb on September 14th. Both films will be making their World Premiere at Roy Thomson Hall as part of the Gala programme this year.

“This year’s Festival is shaping up to be a star-studded event with highly anticipated films that reflect the world around us with humour and empathy, like our Opening and Closing Night selections, Nutcrackers and The Deb,” saysAnita Lee, Chief Programming Officer, TIFF. “

TIFF aims to showcase both returning and first-time directors to the Festival on a big stage, and we are excited for fans to experience these two films — and the many diverse works premiering in between.”

You can expect a lineup of 63 films coming from 25 countries from directors like directors Jacques Audiard, Edward Berger, Gia Coppola, Mike Leigh, Morgan Neville, Walter Salles, Athina Rachel Tsangari, and Jia Zhang-Ke to name a few.
