There’s a pet festival coming to Calgary next month & it’s as cute as it sounds

Calling all animal lovers! If you’re a fan of fluffy creatures of the four-legged variety (or even those with scales), listen up. A massive pet festival is coming to Calgary this April, and yes, it’s just as adorable as you think.

Spruce Meadows, best known for their equine events, will be hosting a dedicated PetFest to celebrate our most beloved companions. There will be everything from darling pups to talented performers, energetic herders, and even a few pets that slither about.

Here’s everything you can expect at PetFest this year.

Spruce Meadows Pet Festival

Shopping

Shop local vendors and businesses at the festival market! There will be unique pet products for sale, along with accessories and treats from a variety of Calgary vendors.

Performances

Expect all-day entertainment at the Equi-Plex Performance Ring and Riding Hall next door. Get a front-row seat to see the prairie dogs agility team, high-energy corgi races, sheep herding, miniature horse jumping, and the hilarious duck herding, among other events.

Pavillions

If you prefer scales to fur, then you need to check out the all-new Reptilian Pavilion this year. There will be shopping, reptiles and exotic animals on display, and a stage for live presentations and demonstrations.

For a full hour-by-hour event breakdown, take a look at the complete online event schedule.
