Port Stanley Terminal Rail

Located in the lakeside village of Port Stanley, Ontario this scenic tourist railway has been operating trains for over 40 years!

Regular rides are one hour long and run rain or shine.

The 2024 season opens on March 24th with train rides leaving the station in Port Stanley at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM, plus Easter Egg Hunt Trains on the 29th, 30th & 31st.

The Scenic Train ride costs $9 per ticket for ages 2-14 and $15 per ticket for ages 15+.

Via Rail

Via Rail has a handful of scenic train rides including one in Ontario! The route runs from Sudbury to White River where riders can take in the wilderness of northern Ontario.

The ride is 480 km in length running for eight hours and 50 minutes, so you may want to make a day or weekend out of it!

One-way tickets are available to book now and start at $76 while round trips start at $156.

Waterloo Central Railway 

Waterloo Central Railway is a heritage railway offering beautiful historic passenger train rides between Northfield Drive in Waterloo, the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, the village of St. Jacobs and the town of Elmira.

The Heritage Hopper ride offers a hop-on / hop-off service travelling between Waterloo and Elmira, with stops at Waterloo Northfield ION, St Jacobs Farmers Market, and St. Jacobs village. There is also a special Easter ride on March 30th!

The Heritage Hopper ride runs for an hour and 45 minutes, costing $24.99 per adult and $19.99 per child under ages 2-11 and seniors 65+.

South Simcoe Railway 

Enjoy a scenic journey through the Beeton Creek Valley aboard South Simcoe Railway’s historic excursion train!

While the regularly scheduled excursions begin on May 19th, a scenic Easter Express is running on March 30th and 31st hosted by the Easter Bunny. Every child will get a chance to chat with the bunny and get some tasty chocolate treats.

The Easter Express departs at noon, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Regular scenic excursions cost $17 for adults, $14 for seniors and $9 for kids ages 3-15.

Muskoka Heritage Place

This scenic train ride in Muskoka opens May 18th, but you can still start planning your trip.

This scenic trip runs along the Muskoka River onto Fairy Lake Station. Once at Fairy Lake Station, children of all ages are invited and sit in the cab and have a chat or ask questions of the engineer and fireman!

The rides run Tuesdays – Fridays at 1:00 PM and Saturdays at 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
