A foot (or more) of snow is a rarity in Vancouver, and that’s exactly what the city got over the past few days – and then some! And being Vancouver, residents wasted no time in strapping on their skis or breaking out their sleds to make the most of it.
Luckily, if you’re a fan of snow, there’s more on the way this week – so you’ll have another opportunity to enjoy the city’s winter wonderland before it all melts away. Currently, The Weather Network forecasts clear skies and a temperature of -7 C for Thursday, December 22nd, and 5 to 10 more cm of snow on Friday, December 23rd. As for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day – it looks like the city is returning to its rainy roots.
But in the meantime, here are some fun photos and videos of Vancouver residents skiing, snowboarding, and sledding in the city’s streets.

Stay safe and enjoy the snow, Vancouver! We hope you’re inspired to get out and play in the snow, if even for just a few minutes. After all, it’s not every day that our city sees this much of it on the ground.
Keep in mind that with more snowfall in the forecast leading up to Christmas, don’t pack away your shovels just yet. The only thing worse than a lump of coal is a violation ticket from the City of Vancouver.
