Where-bnb: This Airbnb in Peru brings mountainside living to a whole new level

In honour of Airbnb announcing a new $10M fund to help people build their dream vacation spot, we thought it’s a good opportunity to show off one of the most adventurous stays there is. This Airbnb in Peru is enough to make any heart race, being perched on the side of a mountain!

The Skylodge Adventure Suites, as they’re called, are a collection of ‘luxury capsules’ located in the heart of the Sacred Valley in Peru. The Sacred Valley, for reference, is where both Cuzco and the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu is located, and was once the home of the Inca empire.

Of course, not only does it house some serious history, but it also is one of the most stunning regions in all of South America. Not for the faint of heart, the 60-km alpine valley is flanked by incredible mountains, with farmland in abundance on the valley floor.

Which brings us to where you’ll actually be staying! It’s no small feat to even get to these capsules- visitors must be ready to climb some 400m of via ferrata (an ‘iron road’) or utilize a hiking trail (with ziplines) instead. Yeah, the journey is *almost* as fun as the destination.

If the destination wasn’t, you know, a literal hanging bedroom. Luckily, you won’t exactly be roughing it for your stay. Bookings come with a host of creature comforts, including transportation to and from the site, meals, and of course, an actual bathroom to use.

If you’re looking for something that’s seriously off the beaten path, like completely, then this might be right up your alley! Head over to Airbnb to learn more about this incredible stay in Peru.
