Have a special occasion or a trip to the mountains coming up? There’s quite literally no place like Sky Bistro in Banff, Alberta.
Located in Canada’s first national park, this incredible restaurant is described as a “dining sanctuary in the sky—perched on the summit of Sulphur Mountain.”
From burgers with apple butter and bacon jam to grilled cauliflower with gochujang BBQ sauce and green apple fennel slaw, there’s a little something for every palate and craving, but that’s only half of the reason you should check it out.
The other half is the sweeping view of the surrounding mountains, towering trees, and the town below—a rare perspective rewarded to those who are brave enough to take the gondola 700 metres upwards.

Sky Bistro won a World Culinary Award for being North America’s best rooftop restaurant in 2022, so you’ll be over the moon that you did.
While there, go for a walk along the beautiful boardwalk, or take in the jaw-dropping vistas from indoors—the area is your oyster.
Enjoy and happy eating.
You won’t regret it!
