Live in one of Wild Rose Country’s bigger cities? It’s most likely snow-free where you are, but in the mountains, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

With plenty of powder on the hills from north to south, the slopes are ready to rock. Want to check one of them out? Here are a few ski resorts you can visit in Alberta right now!

Mt. Norquay

They’re open, Alberta! No matter your skill level, Mt. Norquay is one of the very best spots for skiing in the Banff area. A family favourite since 1926, this particular hill has a rich history with 60 incredible runs of snow and surprises.

Lake Louise

Also located in the beautiful Banff National Park, Lake Louise is actually the largest ski resort in the Rocky Mountains Known for having a wide variety of terrain great for all skill levels, this spot is an obvious choice when it comes to the likes of locals and world travellers.

Sunshine Village

Exciting news, Alberta! Nakiska, Calgary’s closest mountain is also open, but that’s hardly a surprise considering they’re well-known for their extra-long ski seasons! Here, you’re almost guaranteed snow, fun and adrenaline.

Castle Mountain Resort

Celebrating 58 years, Castle Mountain Resort prides itself on being owned and operated by skiers who love the season and are driven by adrenaline – not profit. Interested in checking it out? They hope to open on December 1st, 2023.

Canyon Ski Resort

While it will greatly depend on the weather, Canyon Ski Resort, Alberta’s largest non-mountain family ski area, hopes to open on November 18th, 2023. With 80 acres of skiable terrain, 23 runs, and 6 lifts, this is easily one of the very best things to do in Red Deer when it’s chilly outside.

Marmot Basin

Set to open on November 16th, 2023 Marmot Basin is located in Jasper National Park, one of the most incredible destinations in the province. With 1,720 acres of skiable terrain on five mountain faces, winter sports fans are in for the ride of their life. check it out and enjoy!
