A dazzling holiday train will roll its way through these Ontario cities next month

One of Ontario’s most dazzling seasonal traditions is set to return next month with mesmerizing lights and festive performances, all in support of a great cause.

The CPKC Holiday Train will embark on its 2026 program starting Nov. 19 in Montreal and, from there, will continue on its cross-continental journey, with stops in 182 communities across Canada and the U.S. in support of local food banks.

Since 1999, the annual attraction has collected more than $28.3 million in donations and over 5.6 million pounds of food for community food banks.

This year, the glowing holiday train will be making several stops in Ontario throughout November, including in Belleville, Brighton, Bowmanville, and Oshawa, before arriving in Toronto on Nov. 29.

The event in Toronto is set to run between 8:30 and 9 p.m. at the CPKC Yard office parking lot at 750 Runnymede Rd., and will feature live performances from rock band American Authors and Canadian singer Tyler Shaw.

“The CPKC Holiday Train is one of the most special events of the holiday season! Not only are the lights and music spectacular, but it brings people together to give back to their communities and support friends, family, neighbours and those in need,” said Zac Barnett of American Authors. “We feel so fortunate to take part in the celebration that makes such a meaningful impact.”

While the show is free to watch, those who plan on attending are encouraged to bring cash donations or non-perishable food items, which may be dropped off at the event site.

The holiday train will then continue from Toronto to Vaughan and other Ontario communities, including Parry Sound, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and Kenora.

If you’re planning on basking in the festive celebration, make sure to bundle up, because the event is hosted outdoors.

You can find the complete Canadian holiday train 2026 schedule on the CPKC website.
