The Forbidden Forest Pumpkin Walk is taking over Alberta this week, bringing back loads of fun fall activities for this community tradition filled with glowing pumpkins, spooky trails, and more.
Just outside Drayton Valley, the trails will be lighting up for the annual Forbidden Forest Pumpkin Walk. During this event, lanterns will line the pathways along with loads of carved pumpkins to set the tone for a magical fall evening. Visitors are welcome to participate in the pumpkin carving contest, listen to live music, or get a bite from one of the local food trucks through the night.
For those looking to embrace the autumnal vibes and make the most of the season, this pumpkin walk is one you’ll definitely want to check out.
The free pumpkin walk will be taking over the Pembina Nordic Centre this Thursday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 10 p.m.
According to the Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council, there are more than a few event highlights to explore this Thursday.
Cronic Dawgs will be delivering live music during the evening in an open-air concert setting. While the music plays, you’re welcome to help support the local food bank by stuffing the Nature Navigator, show off your pumpkin skills in the pumpkin carving contest, or walk the stunning pumpkin trail.
If you get hungry, there are also food trucks available on site, with MoJo’s Food Truck and The Amplified Kitchen serving up dishes throughout the night.
This event will be taking place at the Nordic Centre, and there will be no public parking on the entrance road to the Nordic Centre or in the Nordic Centre parking area during the event. Those who are driving to the event will find public parking along Township Road 494.
The easiest way to get to the Pumpkin Walk, according to the Council, is via the free shuttle services going on throughout the evening. These shuttle services start at 5 p.m., and you’re able to park at one of two locations: Frank Maddock High School or Brazeau Sports Park.
From your chosen spot, you’re then able to hop aboard the free shuttle for a ride directly to the entrance of the walk. According to the website, shuttles are able to accommodate folding wheelchairs, folded strollers and folding wagons.
Guests are also encouraged to dress warmly, as these October evenings tend to get a tad cold.
So, grab your coat, get your friends and family, and prepare yourself for a chill evening full of family-friendly fall fun. This night might just shape up to be a great one.
