A hidden gem: This Alberta park has a soft sand beach with “ah-mazing” sunsets

Soft sand beaches in Alberta feel few and far between but what the province lacks in quantity, it makes up for quality!

Whether you like to splash around, get a tan, or go boating, consider checking out Sir Winston Provincial Park – a perfect sunny day destination northeast of Edmonton.

Located 2 hours and 40 minutes from the capital city, this charming spot is where you can enjoy everything from paddleboarding and swimming to “ah-mazing” sunsets that are worth the drive.

However, if three hours seem like a bit much and you want to extend your day trip, you’re in luck!

Sir Winston Churchill Park also has a campsite where you can pitch a tent, rent a cabin, and do a ton of out-of-water activities.

From exploring a 300-year-old forest and hiking the trails to birdwatching opportunities and biking, the area is your oyster… though we’d recommend checking their advisory board before packing your bags!

Interested in checking it out? Don’t hesitate to secure your spot!

Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park fills up quickly in the warmer months so you’ll want to book as soon as you’ve got your ducks in a row.

Check it out and happy camping this season! It certainly won’t be difficult if you’re pitching a tent on one of the best beaches in Alberta.

There’s no place quite like it.
