This ‘rustic’ park in BC is home to a scenic clear lake & rushing waterfall

Looking for a ‘rustic’ camping experience this spring or summer? Skagit Valley is a truly breathtaking place to spend the day or weekend, and Silver Lake is one of the area’s most beautiful spots to uncover.

A traditional First Nations fishing area, Silver Lake is now a small, undeveloped lakefront park where visitors can enjoy fishing, picnicking, boating, and swimming in crystal-clear waters.

The park is home to a host of other natural features as well, from snowcapped mountains to a forested waterfall flowing into the lake.

If you’re looking for a full day of relaxation outdoors, this is your spot, as the provincial park only has one short 1 km trail following the west side of the lake down an old road bed.

In terms of camping, visitors have 20 reservable front-country sites to choose from, in addition to 25 vehicle-accessible sites, with the campground operating from May 1st to October 14th every year.
