There’s an Ontario town located along Georgian Bay that is known for its artist community. But despite its lovely small-town vibes, the adventure lies out in nature, atop a mountain. Here’s Meaford, Ontario, a lovely day trip experience.
About a two and a half hour drive from Toronto is Meaford, a place that embraces its small-town charm. Here you can enjoy local shopping, fresh foods, live theatre, concerts and a gorgeous harbourfront which stands out especially in the summertime.
According to the Municipality of Meaford, it is a four-season destination that has a lot to offer – most importantly out in nature.
Did you know that the town is home to a scenic mountain lookout? Ontario is full of the most scenic, wonderful and jaw-dropping views around and this one is atop a mountain.

Compared to other lookouts, you won’t need to embark on a journey to enjoy the views.
Per Visit Grey, there is a parkette nearby, including a washroom area and picnic pavilion on site making it easier to enjoy your scenic view.
While you’re up there, take a seat on the famous Meaford Big Red Chair, according to South Georgian Bay.
There are about 10 Big Red Chairs scattered across the municipality. If you’re looking for another outdoor adventure, this seems like a fun feat to conquer.
Of course this is a great experience, especially when you’re done exploring all the local shops, snapping pictures of the harbourfront boats, and enjoying its arts and culture.
