Toronto is continuing its quest to be Hollywood North. There are new productions of movies and TV shows right here on our streets.
At any given time, there are at least a couple of TV shows filming in Toronto. And who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky and spot a celeb in the city.
According to the City of Toronto, our city “is one of the top five screen-based industries in North America with a full scope of industry connections, services, suppliers, talent, crew, facilities and locations delivering everything required for success in pre-production through post-production.”
So what’s currently filming or starting production in Toronto? Here are a few shows to know about:

From 7am to 9pm tomorrow, bike lanes on Shuter St, from Yonge to Victoria St, will be closed for filming a TV show. There will be traffic restrictions & detours in the area.

Shorsey S3
Canadian comedy television series Shorsey is back for season three. For those that may not know, Shorsey is a spinoff of Letterkenny so if you loved that show, get excited for this one. Production starts November 13th, 2023, and ends December 18th, 2023.
The Way Home S2
This Hallmark Channel original series is back for season two. The Way Home is about three generations of women – Kat Landry, her teen Alice, and Kat’s mother Del, according to the website. “More than 20 years prior, life-changing events prompted Kat to move away from her small, Canadian farm town and she remains estranged from Del to this day. At a crossroads in her life, Kat moves back with Alice to her family’s farm though the reunion isn’t what Kat envisioned.” There’s some time travelling involved in this show so it’s worth the watch. It ends filming on December 5th, 2023.
Murdoch Mysteries S17
Popular Canadian series Murdoch Mysteries is back for season 17. The detective series has been in production for a few months and will end on February 2nd, 2024.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent – Toronto
The new adaptation of the Law & Order brand will consist of 10 one-hour episodes showcasing “original Canadian stories written and produced by, and starring Canadians.” And it’s been in production for quite some time. Filming wraps on December 29th, 2023.
The Madness
Netflix’s The Madness mini series is about a man named Muncie Daniels who “must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods,” according to Netflix. “As the walls close in, Muncie strives to reconnect with his estranged family – and his lost ideals – in order to survive.” Production ends December 30th, 2023
Canada’s Got Talent S3
Do you have talent? Well, it looks like Canadians definitely do because filming for Canada’s Got Talent season two is still underway, having started on October 19. The TV show is being revived and it’s back and bigger than ever. It’s set to stop filming on May 14th, 2024.
