Shake Shack is opening its first Canadian location in Toronto & it’s hiring

Shake Shack is getting ready to open its first-ever Canadian location right in Toronto and if you’re interested in working for the American chain, keep reading. The popular spot for burgers and fries is currently hiring and here’s what to know.

Though we now know where the chain will open, an opening date has yet to be announced. But rest assured, Canadians will soon be able to enjoy Shake Shack offerings considering it is hiring at the moment.

Shake Shack is looking to fill three important roles to fulfill its managerial staff.

The positions include General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Manager. Of course, some degree of managerial experience is necessary to apply.

News of its opening was first announced in March of 2023, stating that the chain teamed up with Toronto-based private investment companies Osmington Inc. and Harlo Entertainment Inc., to bring the vision to fruition.

According to Michael Kark, Chief Global Licensing Officer of Shake Shack, they plan to open 35 locations across Canada by 2035.

“We have been eyeing this incredible opportunity in Canada for quite some time and are elated to have found exceptional partners to serve Shack classics and bespoke Canada-exclusive items to our sophisticated neighbors to the north,” said Kark.

“Together with Osmington Inc. and Harlo Entertainment, we plan to open 35 Shacks in Canada by 2035 starting with the flagship location in Toronto in 2024. We can’t wait to be a part of the city’s bustling energy and innovative food scene.”

The new location will also collaborate with local purveyors and producers in order to build a one-of-a-kind Shack experience that is unique to the Toronto community.

Needless to say, we can’t wait to chow down on classic ShackBurgers, and crinkle-cut fries.

As for its Toronto opening, we’ll keep you updated once more information is released.

Since having opened its original location in 2004 in NYC’s Madison Square Park, Shake Shack has expanded to over 440 locations systemwide, with 290 spots in 32 U.S. states and over 150 international locations across London, Tokyo, Shanghai, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Singapore, Dubai, Seoul and more.

We can’t wait for its Canadian expansion.
